3 other of our team members who should have arrived today, are still stuck in Miami, waiting for a flight out due to storms in the area.

Our boat is technically not allowed back in the country at the moment due to a maritime paperwork issue with customs. (Or, perhaps because one of the scientists/activists on the trip might have sued the customs agency 8 years ago for not following through on enforcing their own laws on private dock usage (and as a result, supported illegal shark fishing while looking the other way on what happened on private docks) and has decided this week to make the red tape a little thicker). We can't be sure at the moment, but we currently have no boat to board at the moment. Today, being a holiday for the Costa Ricans means the government is closed, so issues cannot be handled until tomorrow.

However, great evening with a few of the crew - 1 UK, 3 USA and 1 Canadian. Tried "Casado" - a common dish here in CR. Delicious, especially with plantains.

We'll see what happens tomorrow, but we are in a holding pattern til at least noon tomorrow, maybe longer.
